2024 Rally Season Community Volunteer Projects
We are excited to kick-off 2024 with community volunteer projects the morning of Rally in Dallas, Orlando, and wrapping up in San Diego! As a Company with Heart and a Culture of caring, this is a great time to put our Hearts in action, connect with Cohearts, and show some extra love and care for these communities during Rally season.
Projects are from 9 - 11:30 a.m. and approximately 10 minutes from the Rally venue. Review the information for each Rally City below and register to put your Heart in action by volunteering alongside Cohearts. Registered Volunteers will receive additional project details the week prior to the project.
Tuesday, Feb 20, from 9 - 11:30 a.m.
Supporting local partner USS Midway Museum, with help from Hands On San Diego, volunteers will spruce up the ship inside, out, and around the grounds. Activities include:
- Pier sweeping/cleanup around perimeter
- Tour route detailing, safety inspections and minor exhibit repairs.
- Pad eye scraping and flight deck clean up.
- Preservation scraping, prepping, and painting.
- Airplane washing and cleaning (two) planes.
Wednesday, Feb 7, from 9 - 11:30 a.m.
Supporting Hands On Orlando (HOO), volunteers will help at Hands On Park, an environmental learning and green space.
- Trail Blazers will help build and maintain trails,
- Jungle Tamers will remove invasive vegetation, clear debris, and trail prep.
- Plant Detectives will work with HOO Project Leaders to find & identify plants for educational research.
Thursday, Feb 1, from 9 - 11:30 a.m.
Volunteers have two projects options to choose from:
- Help in Arlington, supporting The Salvation Army Youth Education Town (YET), an educational enrichment center for underserved kids and just 3 miles from Globe Life Field (Rally venue), cleaning and decorating for Valentine's Day. As well, volunteers will help at in the food pantry and meal service at the Family Life Center (shelter and services for the unhoused.) Great project for Cohearts traveling in!
- Help in South Oak Cliff, Dallas, supporting our nonprofit partner Behind Every Door, volunteers will with various projects to help organize, assemble, clean up Cedar Crest Community Center as they prepare to welcome the community and its 17,000 residents in April. (Great project for HDQ Campus Cohearts!)
